jbmoore · 4 months agoKsplice killed a VMware VM running Jaunty. I could not uninstall it using apt-get remove or dpkg. I had to search restore modprobe and depmod as well as delete the ksplice files manually. The odd thing is that ksplice fails similarly for a live CD I created using Jaunty Jackalope, but it does not kill the kernel initialization of the live CD. I'm guessing it has something to do with isolinux loading the live CD kernel. While ksplice installs fine on my sidux (Debain sid) workstation, it does not like the kernel's name and so doesn't trigger.
